What we've been up to

In the run up to Christmas, Floella Interiors has been super busy on loads of projects! In this blog, we’ll tell you about our festive redecoration of our favourite optician’s window display, and give you a sneak peak of a gorgeous Cheltenham home project. We also wanted to tell you about our DiscovHer catch-up in London and, on top of all that, our resident star baker has been creating some Christmassy treats in the kitchen!

We have been working on this exciting Cheltenham based project for a while now and wanted to give you a little sneak peek of the mood boards to give a taste of what’s to come. Currently, we are designing the client’s kitchen/dining area in their beautiful family home. The clients have some gorgeous pieces of art they bought back from Hong Kong which are packed with colour and were our starting point for the space’s colour palette. Beautiful vibrant pinks, oranges, and blues are at the heart of design. In addition to colour, our clients share our love for fun patterns, so we have been able to incorporate some gorgeous patterned textiles into this scheme. Check out those amazing cushion fabrics for the bespoke day bed and the lovely fabrics for the bar stools. We can’t wait to share more photos and updates in upcoming newsletters as this project progresses!

What else have we been up to?

Last week we went up to London for the Christmas DiscovHer get together at an amazing restaurant called Granary Square Brasserie (a definite recommendation if you find yourself near Kings Cross). DiscovHer is a networking event for a community of women who support and encourage one another in growing their businesses in all kinds of industries. If you have a small business or are thinking of launching one, we’d definitely recommend considering joining DiscovHer.

We wanted to share with you just a couple of amazing businesses owned by lovely ladies we’ve met through this group.

What else have we been up to?

Ella, Sarah’s daughter (and one half of Flo-ella!) has been very busy baking and decorating these charming gingerbread cookies for some of our lovely clients this Christmas. Ella has been baking since she was three years old and now produces stunning cakes and baked goods alongside her studies. We’ve linked Ella’s instagram so you can check out her amazing work. Don’t hesitate to give her a DM if you would like to commission some beautiful tasty treats!

What else have we been up to?

In our last newsletter, we shared the whimsical Autumn display we created for Harper and Cooper. This month we went back to add a few wintery touches which we wanted to share with you. The first being the fir doorway garland which we covered in fairly lights and baubles. We went for a rust-coloured scheme which compliments the blue exterior perfectly. Variation in texture is important to creating a visually aesthetic display, so we made sure to use a selection of shiny, matt, and glittery finishes and combined these baubles with some dried orange slices. For the window display, we swapped out some of the Autumn foliage for fresh real fir branches and red berries. To finish, we sprinkled the woodland scene below with fake snow and hung snowflakes to frame the uplifting window decal “Life is full of magic and wonder...you just have to see it”.
